19 February 2021

In response to the global pandemic caused by COVID-19, the Government has taken the initiative to enact the Temporary Measures for Reducing the Impact of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) Act 2020 (“COVID-19 Act”) to reduce the impact caused by the COVID-19 disease. Having come into force on 23 October 2020 and extended to the 31 of March 2021, the COVID-19 Act provides certain measures and protection relevant, and affecting the construction industry.

Please find below the recorded webinar where our Mr T Kuhendran discusses on, amongst others the following:

a) the measures and protections introduced by the COVID-19 Act
b) the categories of contracts in the construction industry to which the protections apply; and
c) how a party can avail itself to the protection under the Act.
