18 March 2022

Act A1649: Patents (Amendment) Act 2022 which comes into operation on 18 March 2022 except section 14, paragraph 26(a), sections 45 and 47, paragraph 48(a), section 55 and paragraph 57(b).

The highlights of the amendments are that it now enables a patent to be recognized as personal property or movable property as a subject for the purpose of mortgage. This in turn means that patents can now be mortgaged at financial institutions just like other personal or movable property.
